Check the ascent, ground underfoot and exposed sections alongside the weather, before you choose your day.

Wind, rain, temperature and cloud become one clear score for every route.
Visibility and cloud levels reveal where the day’s best panoramas are likely to be.
Topography and wind direction show the exposure on the route you’ll walk.
Route-specific clues help you avoid a miserable glen or an uncrossable burn.

The forecast made for Scotland
Still air in a sheltered glen can change a promising day. Munro Planner estimates midge exposure for each route using the weather, season and terrain around it.
A route-specific estimate of exposure, not a promise, because if the wind drops in a damp glen, you already know what’s coming.

Who makes it
I'm Simon, the creator of Munro Planner, and a qualified Mountain Leader. I'm in the hills all year: long summer days, wild camps, multi-day trips, and mountaineering days when winter comes in. I wrote most of this app from a campervan parked at the foot of the hills, and I test it on proper Scottish days, walking up the hill in wind, sun and rain with the phone in my pocket and the watch on my wrist.
That time in the hills shapes every feature, from route-aware forecasts to navigation that works with a map and compass, not against them.
No ads, no selling your data, and a genuinely useful free tier. Just an honest planning tool to help you pick the best hill on the right day.
